Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATAs) Key BenefitsCapabilitiesAs with our compliance demonstration emissions testing, state-of-the-art gas analyzers housed in a mobile analytical trailer are used to collect emissions data. These data are compared to plant Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) data to calculate the Relative Accuracy (RA) of the plant system. Data are computer-reduced on-site, and draft RA results are presented to the client during the testing. This allows on-site diagnosis of any problems with plant CEMS equipment. Because accuracy is particularly critical in RATA sampling, APT uses only the best equipment on the market (see the Equipment section of this document for further discussion). With our ever-vigilant eye towards increasing accuracy, APT test teams have been particularly active in the utility industry applying EPA Method 2F (3-dimensional flow testing) to reduce stack gas volumetric flow rates. The increased accuracy provided with the new testing methodology has saved our clients literally millions of dollars in emission fees.
